Education: The school of The Art Institute of Chicago, painting, sculpture
and 3d design. Barat College, Lake Forest, Illinois, B.F.A. Focus on
painting and printmaking.

Arts Council Of Sonoma County, “Interior – Exterior,
New perspectives on landscape”
Santa Rosa, California, January – February 2007
A collaborative, full gallery installation with sculptor Craig Mitchell. We were
awarded this show based on our proposal to thoroughly transform the gallery space.
The conceptual/abstract theme was created with paintings on canvas, sculpture,
and murals that were placed in connected vignettes. It expresses the concept
of “landscape”, both inner (human) and outer (world), through the
juxtaposition of abstract design elements that are both spatial and illusory

Spring session 1989
A solo exhibition of paintings and drawings in conjunction
with an evening length, solo concert of my performance art and choreography.
The exhibition and performance was in tandem with a week-long arts residency,
during which time I taught classes in; dance and choreographic technique, and
demonstrated parallels to the plastic arts. In addition, I gave two lecture/demonstrations
entitled: “A gallery adventure” at
the ULAR Fine Arts Gallery; about how art effects choreography, and an art historical
lecture/ demonstration, “Parallels in the visual arts 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s to
the present“ demonstrating the association of painting, sculpture and dance from
these eras to the present.

Shown and collected as “American Still life” a five part painting on a wrought
iron armature.

Performance Art and art for performance:
Sebastopol center for the arts, “Expressing the Muse” Sebastopol,
Ca. April 2007 . A collaborative gallery performance of music and movement; a
co-creation inspired by the non-objective art of the “Abstract Rhythms” exhibition.
I was selected as the co-coordinator, and a participating curator for the “Abstract
Rhythms” show as well as the artistic director for the music and movement concert.
La Pensione Hotel, “Courtyard performance” San Diego, Ca. July 2005. Dance and musical premiere of “Gypsy Dance” with selected excerpts of Italian opera, sung by Cynthia Ryder and Mara Cooper. Performance was created for the extensive, permanent courtyard installation that I created with sculptor Craig Mitchell - known as the pre-renaissance Florentine fantasy of modern architecture “Cristo meets Giotto”.
Mandell Weiss Auditorium, UCSD, “Death and Other Exits” La Jolla, Ca. January 1996. Collaboration with choreographer Jean Issacs of Issacs–McCaleb and dancers for set design. Created two 18 foot (painted) panels as a stage set for full evening performance.

Additional interests and abilities:
Language, literature and writing/
I have an on-going interest in the French language and in French literature, as well as in English and American literature; both modern and pre-Victorian. I am currently in the process of writing two pieces of fiction ( for publication ) that center around the world of the visual arts for both dance and painting.
Art History( ancient – modern )and pre-Elizabethan
English history/
I have spent many years incorporating my knowledge of art history into my art; especially into my commercial design work. History is vital knowledge for any artist and I do my homework daily!
